Every child deserves support, love and the experience of creating positive memories and traditions in a family that will last a lifetime. While foster and adoptive families are ready to open their hearts and their homes to provide those opportunities, they often find that it takes more than love to help a child overcome their traumatic roots. The Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families strives to keep the "forever" in Forever Families across Hillsborough County. Each year, the Center provides support to pre- and post-adoptive families through comprehensive case management, in-home family counseling, information & referral, advocacy, support groups, and education. All services are at no cost to the family.
The Sylvia Thomas Center was established as a 501(c)(3) organization on 11/07/2000 to offer foster and adoptive families a safe place to seek the support and skills they need. To honor our founding date, we invite you to join our 1107 Club by making a recurring gift. Monies donated help provide ongoing support to the families we serve.
